Responsibilities:

  • Hands on equipment commissioning and maintenance of all hydrogen fueling station components such as hydrogen pumps and compressors, hydrogen high pressure piping, fittings, valves, instrument air, cryogenic systems, hydraulic and electric drives, 24 VDC electrical systems, AC electrical power systems and PLC systems.
  • Hands on inspection and overhaul of station components especially pump inserts at the workshop.

Required Skills and Experience

The Resident Field Service Engineer acts as technical sales and solutions representative for the company, provides technical guidance and direction to operations engineers, technicians and client personnel for the utility boiler and industrial boiler markets.  Conducts site assessments and inspections, leads and assists in root cause analysis when required, develops technical solutions in partnership with host customer and internal stakeholders and manages the implementation of such solutions onsite. Provides technical guidance and direction to operations engineers, technicians and client personnel.

Must be a recognized “self-starting” individual with a high degree of technical competence and knowledge in the design, operations, and maintenance of steam generating equipment within utility / industrial power plants.  Must be willing to learn on a steep curve and apply skills quickly.

Experience with multi-fuel utility/industrial boilers, fuel delivery systems, environmental, and auxiliary equipment is a must. Specific experience with boiler makers particularly Combustion Engineering (ABB/Alstom) Equipment.. Should have extensive hands on experience in general field services, including knowledge with O&M, inspection, troubleshooting, start-up & commissioning activities and the ability to deal directly with Customers at all levels (Maintenance and operational personnel up to and including Plant Manager).

 

  1. Perform outage support and inspections on the boilers/ash cleaning equipment within the area of residency, with additional work outside this area as business needs dictate. 
  2. Lead inspection and consultation team during outages and ensure that the technical documentation from the group is accurate and complete.
  3. Perform operational tuning/optimization for all fuels with an emphasis on bark and black liquor.
  4. Provide technical feedback to  Engineering & Replacement Parts as well as possibly others with regard to operational data, customer needs and the resolution of technical issues.
  5. Actively look for opportunities for smaller upgrade projects (Field Managed Contracts) that would be handled at the District Field Service office.  Provide information and intelligence on the drivers for the opportunities and assist with marketing opposite the customer as needed.  
  6. Work closely with Sales to develop contracts from promising leads for larger upgrade project opportunities that arise during outages or courtesy visits.
  7. Act as a liaison between the customer and Parts to clarify parts orders & quotes, before and after orders are placed, and expedite materials when needed.

Description:

Will function as senior level technical specialist within the engineering department with input to all levels of the company.  The individual is recognized both internally and externally as an expert within their field. Will critically evaluate future energy technology fundamentals while relying on an experience base with a wide range of products and processes utilized in multiple industries. Will perform fundamental techno-economic evaluations of future technologies that are being studied by start-ups, National Labs, the DOE, and leading research Universities.

Will be required to perform fundamental technology evaluations of processes while relying on a strong experience base of complex technical principles and proven analysis techniques (i.e., side by side technology/process/product energy and exergy analysis).  This fundamental review will be important for the R&D engineer to discern system limitations that could limit future commercial success.  In short, this role will help to identify the next generation of technology on an on-going basis to keep well positioned in the future when the global needs are realized. 

Requirements:

1.   A demonstrated ability to understand the global energy market and to use that understanding to quickly grasp new technology concepts and conduct critical evaluations for technical and economical viability using state-of-the-art tools is crucial to this role.

2.   Investment in new technologies may include M&A, partnering, or self-development. Supporting this planning, the R&D engineer role will assemble reports and case studies for these entrepreneurial opportunity reviews. This role will skillfully include and discern key market implications such as regulatory impacts relying on a solid understanding of economics. The Senior Project Manager is responsible to effectively manage multiple or large complex projects through design development, procurement, fabrication, construction and start-up & commissioning.  Provide direction and oversight to a project team including engineering, quality assurance, productions planning, purchasing and cost accounting; secure and coordinate the services of support organizations including legal, finance, manufacturing, sales and field service. Project scope will be large capital new construction and retrofit projects in the energy generation industry.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support project requirements and business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Internal Management of core project team and assigned engineering and third party resources to accomplish stated project objectives on-time and within budget.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

The FED Engineer will spearhead a variety of project initiatives including product development, cost reduction efforts, and design improvements. They will also serve as the project engineer and the lead design engineer on select current project contract objectives.  The work will involve performing engineering calculations including emission performance predictions and equipment selection and sizing. Coordinating with sales team and other technical groups, they will be involved in accomplishing business expansion goals through proposal work and engineering consultation

Essential Responsibilities

  • Execute contracts, proposals, and new development work in Fuel Equipment Engineer and Project Engineer positions. Will interact with other engineering groups including instruments and controls, stress/structural steel, and boiler performance as a cross-functional resource.
  • Meet performance expectations for executing low Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) projects, becoming a subject matter expert in various firing systems as this individual grows within our organization.
  • Provide proposal and sales support with customer presentations, consultative technical guidance, and project financial estimates.
  • Author field test procedures and reports, and lead service teams during burner and emissions performance test programs.
  • Produce and present technical content at conferences while networking within the industry.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for full contract and design execution of fuel combustion equipment with a focus on low NOx burner and OFA technology for wall fired and T fired boilers.  Promote the low NOx technologies throughout the boiler industry through technical presentations.  Handle full product development project responsibilities including developing new products, implementing cost reduction efforts and improving equipment design.  Dual function as the project engineer and lead design engineer on selected projects as required to achieve contract objectives.  Provide proposal and sales support with presentations, technical guidance and manhour estimates.  Provide consultation to other engineer groups as necessary.  Develop engineering standards for equipment sizing and emissions performance predictions.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Masters in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Preferred

The Sr. Project Developer – Waste to Energy (Global) is accountable for the development of the global Waste to Energy business segment by their technical and commercial market strategy direction in partnership with Sales, establishing and maintaining key account relations, providing proposal strategies for the accurate and competitive development of proposals, leading all commercial pre-bid strategy & terms and conditions reviews. The Sr. Project Developer will establish and motivate  teams in a matrixed environment to support them as they lead and direct all post-bid commercial and technical contract negotiations and make certain that technical and commercial items are negotiated favorably and that proper mitigations are in place for risks to assure as best possible contract which can be executed profitably. The position is also accountable for, in conjunction with senior management and Sales, developing, updating, and implementing the go-to-market strategy for Waste to Energy global business segment, including their efforts to coordinate and enforce such strategy across all of sales representatives and resellers. The Sr. Project Developer will stay informed of the status and activities on won project in execution and provide assistance through their customer relationship in order to manage issue and leverage such projects into future additional opportunities. The Sr. Project Developer will act independently and autonomously within corporate guidelines in the performance of their position described above and make decisions on behalf of frequently in the absence of management and often in remote locations without access to advice and counsel.

  • Work with senior management and Sales to develop, update and implement the go-to-market strategy for Waste to Energy global business segment;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, sales representatives, resellers, and EPC’s
  • Work with Sales and customers to bring the customers’ potential projects from concept to reality while influencing tender requirements and maintain as a lead supplier
  • Initiate, manage, and direct the Go/No-Go and Bid/No Bid Meetings: Insure that good business judgments and decisions are made during these meetings;
  • Develop and lead the opportunity strategy and work with proposal teams to turn strategies into actionable tactics and tasks;
  • Coach and manage the proposal teams on the development of accurate bids assuring reliable cost build up and legitimate execution plan that can meet the proposed schedule;
  • Review and ensure that proposals and the overall proposal process puts forward compelling value propositions, technical accuracy, and competitive positioning;
  • Develop and direct negotiation strategies and gain alignment from internal stakeholders;
  • Build and lead the contract negotiating team and closes the deal and conform final contract documents assuring contracts can be executed profitably and that proper mitigations are in place for risks;
  • Stay informed of the status and activities on won project in execution and provide assistance through their customer relationship in order to manage issue and leverage such projects into future additional opportunities.
  •  Direct responses to budget proposal requests and provide such budget requests directly as required;
  • Provide regular opportunity pipeline reports, proposal status updates, shop loadboard input, and other information to teams and to senior management.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends, markets, and competitive positioning including knowledge of market pricing points for products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline required.
  • 10+ years of project management experience or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Experience communicating in high stakes scenarios with external stakeholders, preparing necessary testimony for hearings, and developing and delivering strategic communications to management.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports and studies and communicate project impact.
  • Thorough understanding and implementation of Waste to Energy (Global) in accordance with contracts.

The Regional EHS&S Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and acting as the technical subject matter expert to the Western Operations Leadership Team in all matters related to environmental, health, safety, and security compliance.

DUTIES

  • Administers the framework of Global EHS&S Management Systems designed to promote a strong safety culture and top / down – bottom up process focused on driving accountability and “Best in Class” performance.

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of daily adherence to environmental, health, safety and security policies and procedures.

  • Facilitates Regional EHS&S Leadership Meeting & self – audit / inspections on a quarterly basis.

  • Leads EHS&S performance improvements initiatives and corporate business plan objectives across the territory.

  • Facilitate/participate in Serious Incident Review (SIR) and Incident Investigations and Root-Cause Analysis of all

    incidents as appropriate; coordinating and participating (as required) in the investigation and case management of

    accidents and near misses, per policy and/or regulatory requirements.

  • Fosters the continuous improvement of corporate and regional EHS&S Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance

    with regulatory requirement and administrative best practices.

  • Participate in hourly EHS&S talent acquisition, professional development strategies and regional EHS&S goal setting

  • Responsible for the supervision and staffing of project based EH&S professionals.

  • Provide supervision, training and coaching to operational leaders and site safety professionals to ensure technical

    competence and development within the region and during project execution.

  • Lead / monitor and communicate regional performance management metrics weekly / monthly focused on analyzing and communicating both leading and lagging indicators trends.

  • Participate in bid spec review and hazard assessments associated with projects performance.

  • Provide technical oversight and development of Site Specific Safety Action and Emergency Response Plans, Hazard

    Assessments and Mitigation Plans.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Company, Customer and Regulatory Requirements throughout the territory.

  • Act as the regional subject matter expert to the Leadership and Project Teams in all matters related to EHS&S.

  • Conduct EHS audits, tracking trends within an internal database in accordance with policy.

  • Facilitates Industrial Hygiene assessments, sampling and long-term records retention.

  • Acts as the primary Designated Employer Representative (D.E.R.) responsible for monitoring the implementation and

    compliance with the Company / Customer Fit for Duty Programs across the territory.

  • Share technical oversight and development responsibilities for weekly EH&S focus topics and EH&S Alerts in support

    of Weekly Operations Safety Call which provides a forum for enhancing Safety Culture, sharing best practices

 

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 A Minimum of 10 years in EHS within Commercial Construction Industry

 

 Bachelor’s Degree (Occ. Safety, Occ. Health, Environmental Affairs, or related field) Preferred

 Professional Certification (please name certification) – CSP, ASP, BSP, OSHA 500 or CHST a plus

  • Knowledgeable in Workers’ Compensation / case management.

  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHS&S data management software.

The Aerodynamic Engineer is responsible for contributing to comprehensive design and development of centrifugal and axial compressors throughout the product engineering life cycle, from feasibility to implementation and qualification phases. A Senior Engineer is required to apply advanced turbomachinery aero-thermodynamics design principles and practices to real world engineering challenges. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Converting client and market needs into aero-thermodynamic design and development solutions
  • Detailed aero design of compressor flowpath and blading (impellers, stators and volutes) geometries including
  • Using turbomachinery Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) (from meanline modelling to detailed geometry creation and 3D unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations) tools to support various parts of the design and development
  • Effective design application of automatic optimization schemes and software

Exercising thermodynamic properties modeling techniques and software for compressor performance evaluation

Planning and execution of single-stage centrifugal compressor performance rig test campaigns including

    • Collaboration with cross functional teams within R&D to ensure product engineering and manufacturing acceptability of various aero related design and technology improvements
    • Deliver design documentation and/or technical reports/presentations following project stage gates
    • Plan and execute new technology development and/or improvement projects
    • Provide technical & programmatic directions to junior engineers and support staff
      Instrumentation definition; test data acquisition; data analysis and synthesis using up-to-date methods

EDUCATION, SKILLS And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Accredited Bachelor degree with strong preference for Master and/or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced turbomachinery aerodynamics, with preference for deep knowledge of state-of-the-art CFD and data analytics techniques
  • 10+ years of working experience in turbomachinery aero design and development , with preference for simulation-driven centrifugal compressor aerodynamic design & development
  • Proficiency & accrued design practice with commercial CAE / and optimization software
  • Strong familiarity with experimental fluid mechanics practices & measurement techniques
